MBA Programs in Asia
Asia - hotspot for MBA programs
With the world’s most populous landmass, and with some of the world’s fastest developing economies, Asia is fast becoming a major hotspot for MBA programs. In fact over the 2006-2009 period, the number of Asian business schools featuring in the top 200 has more than doubled, according to the QS 2009 survey.
International schools are investing heavily in the region, either partnering with existing Asian schools or, as with Insead Singapore or Hult in Dubai, creating their own campuses there. The need for experienced and educated managers in the region was highlighted by McKinsey in recent years, who suggested that the number of managers needed in China and India in particular outnumbered the number of educated managers that there would be, over the next decade. The facts remain to be seen, of course, but either way Asia has a huge demand for business school-educated leaders and many nations are investing in getting those talented young people educated themselves.
