Our philosophy on the MBA is that the courses are designed to equip students with a comprehensive set of skills and capabilities, combined with a higher level of reflective thinking, which will remain with them throughout their career. More and more students are choosing to study for an MBA at the Aberdeen Business School and they consistently list reasons for doing so:

• Learn how to apply the course to your business
• Development of employability skills through skills workshops, company visits and personal development activity

Our MBA programmes have international and enterprise focuses as key components and specialist routes. The programmes are available in a range of study modes. We currently offer MBA and MBA Oil and Gas Management courses and they can be studied full-time, part-time and distance-learning.

Our MBA programmes follow a progression from Core Management modules through specialist Elective Modules and thereafter to a Strategic Management module. The Core Management modules provide an underpinning to all essential functional decision-making skills required by a general manager and introduces aspects of strategic analysis and thinking.

The electives allow students to specialise in areas that match their individual interests and career aspirations. The Strategic Management module, a major element of the programme, develops a comprehensive understanding of the Strategic Management process, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to operate at Board and CEO level. The programmes are completed with the submission of a consultancy project in which theory and experience are brought together to analyse and resolve real and complex organisational problems. Full time students have the opportunity to undertake a placement as part of the consultancy project; further ensuring the business relevance of their work.
