ESAN was founded by Stanford University in 1963 and is the first institution to offer an MBA program in Hispanic America. The ESAN´s mission is to contribute to the development of management education in the Latin American region with research and high quality graduate and executive educational programs. ESAN´s programs are designed to prepare managers with an entrepreneurial vision while to reinforce team work, integrity and values; ESAN strives to develop requisite management knowledge with a solid foundation while broadering approaches to problem identification and eventual solution based on creativity. ESAN provides students with the international perspective required to manage organizations successfully in highly competitive markets.
Program Description
The MBA Program at ESAN comprises required courses, electives, and workshops. The required courses are mostly taken in the first two academic terms. In the last two academic terms, the program offers students the possibility to choose among a broad range of elective courses, which allow MBA students to fulfill the course requirements to acquire a concentration in one of the following areas: General Management, Finance, Marketing,Information Systems and Telecommunications or International Business.
The foundation provided to participants is enhanced through a unique multiple-activities program known as Managerial Skills Program, which aims to develop competences essential to modern managers.
Students must prepare and defend a group thesis as a partial requirement for graduation. A thesis is an applied research work that contributes to understand company, economic or organizational problems and propose solutions to introduce changes for improvement.
Method of Instruction
The MBA Program at ESAN offers an integral education that develops analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in real-world situations. To accomplish this, ESAN provides students with state-of-the-art technological and conceptual tools. Classes focus on gaining practical experience; are based on business cases and real-world situations; and promote interaction with the business community. Management education is complemented with a set of activities and workshops that increase managerial competences of the professional manager: communication and leadership skills, creativity, teamwork, global attitudes, and the ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
International Dimension
The MBA program promotes international exposure by offering students the possibility to participate in
Double Degree programs in association with other universities located in the United States, Germany, and Spain. Additionally, students may apply to one of 23 top business schools worldwide to benefit from international exchange programs.
