McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University

Overview

For over 200 years, Georgetown University has welcomed aspiring leaders to our campus along the banks of the Potomac River. Situated at the hub of global business and political power in Washington, D.C., GeorgetownÂ’s McDonough School of Business integrates traditional business coursework with an understanding of the political and social realities that shape global markets. The Rafik B. Hariri building, our state of the art facility which opened in June 2009, enables us to further excel in the quality of our teaching, research, student services, career management and connections to the international community.

Global Mindset
The Georgetown MBA program, ranked third in the world for international business by the Financial Times, prepares students for challenging careers in a complex and changing global marketplace. All students engage in hands-on international learning through the Global Residency, in which student consulting teams work to solve a pressing business problem facing a foreign organization or Fortune 500 company with operations overseas. Recent Global Residency locations include Ho Chi Minh City, Johannesburg, Prague, Sao Paulo and Shanghai. Students may further develop a global mindset by taking courses with an international focus or pursuing one of several programs offered in conjunction with the Georgetown School of Foreign Service or universities abroad.

Focus on Leadership
With an emphasis on innovation and ethical decision-making, we educate our MBA students to be global business leaders through complex coursework and enhanced exposure to renowned leaders. Opportunities for leadership roles in over thirty student organizations also ensure that students will have the chance to hone their skills by managing their peers. Immersed in a culture that embodies ethical leadership, our students learn how to establish a clear vision and motivate others. Our students do more than master effective project management - they inspire those around them.

Community of Achievement
The McDonough School of Business offers world-class faculty from academia and business that are passionate about teaching and praised by students for their accessibility. Students gain a foundation in all core management disciplines with an emphasis on the global, ethical and political environment of business. Our community is collaborative and embraces the ideals of diversity, curiosity, intellectual openness and social responsibility in the Georgetown tradition. Georgetown MBAs are known for their ability to conduct rigorous analysis, effectively manage organizations, work extraordinarily well in teams and produce professional, high-quality results.
