The Swansea MBA aims to enable you to achieve four key aims: deepen your understanding of organisations, their management and the changing external context in which they operate; develop your ability to apply your knowledge and understanding of business and management to complex issues, both systematically and creatively, to improve business and management practice; drive forward your career in business and management through building up your skills to a professional or equivalent level; draw out your personal development needs to enhance your lifelong learning and enable you to work with self-direction and originality.
Taught modules: Semester 1 of The Swansea MBA programme (October to January) is designed to incorporate practical business experience into broad knowledge perspectives relating to the four main areas of business: finance, markets, people and processes. Semester 2 of the programme (February to May) is designed with two aims in mind: the integration of knowledge through its application to specific business situations, and the development of detailed knowledge of particular areas of interest. Throughout this period of the programme, analysis and interpersonal skills are developed. Independent Study: after completion of the taught element the final four months of the MBA programme provide the time for more customised exploration of areas of interest through the completion of a Management Report.
