BI Norwegian School of Management
BI was founded in 1943 and is now one of the largest business schools in Europe with around 19,000 students and 330 full-time faculty members. The school is EQUIS accredited.
The school boasts a wide range of part-time and full-time programmes in the areas of business administration, management, marketing and finance.
BI is the only academic institution in Norway that offers full-time programmes taught in English at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The following international programmes are available at the postgraduate level:
• A one year full-time MBA
• An 18 months Executive MBA in cooperation with ESCP-EAP
• A two-year Executive MBA in Technology Management cooperation with NIT Hamburg
• A one-year Executive Master in Energy Management in cooperation with ESCP-EAP and EFP
• A two year pre-experience Master programme with specializations in Business and Economics, Marketing, Financial Economics, International Marketing and Management, Leadership and Organizational Psychology, Political Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
All Programmes are taught at the school’s brand new campus in Oslo, one of the most modern teaching facilities in Europe.
Accreditation
BI Norwegian School of Management was accredited by EQUIS in 1999 and reaccredited in 2005. The Executive MBA is AMBA accredited.
MBA Programme Structure
The full-time MBA Programme at BI Norwegian School of Management is a general management programme with an emphasis on Strategic leadership and Emerging Economies (China). The programme includes a month-long study period at Fudan University, Shanghai. Classes are small (max. 35 participants), which ensures a unique and personalized learning experience. The programme offers ample opportunities for interaction with faculty, fellow students and alumni.
Shared Benefits
During the final two terms, teams of MBA participants assume the role of advisors to a company’s top management on an issue of strategic importance to the company. The MBA participants are provided with an unique opportunity to apply and further master the tools, concepts, skills and perspectives developed in the programme, while the client company obtains valuable recommendations on issues of strategic importance.

Career Placement and Management
The Careers Service Office offers consulting, seminars and interview training sessions, as well as arranging on-campus company presentations.
Alumni
Alumni remain in close contact with the school and one another through the active Alumni Society. Most alumni cite the low student-professor ratio and small international class size as dominant factors in their participation in the programme.

I considered many business schools and chose BI Norwegian School of Management because it offers a one-year, very intensive programme with a focus on strategy and corporate finance. Other strong points of the BI MBA were a small class, close cooperation with professors, a strong emphasis on teamwork and excellent scholarship opportunities.
Solving tons of cases on international business, non-stop exchange of experience with my classmates from all over the globe, mastering my business English during the long group discussions and working on the challenging consultancy project with my outstanding team, made me well prepared to make a step into the global business environment.
Two months before I finished the MBA, I had a signed job contract with a big international telecommunication company TANDBERG that has headquarters in Oslo and New York with the responsibility for marketing communications in seven countries.
