Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
“A student once said that when you graduate from Tuck, you’ve gained your education, your diploma, and friends for life. This says something about Tuck that goes beyond statistics. Tuck is one of the most selective and academically challenging MBA programs—but it’s also one of the most supportive.”
—Dean Paul Danos

Student Profile
Chandra Jayaram
Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
Programme: Full time MBA
Nationality: Indian
Age: 28
I grew up in India and completed my bachelor’s degree in computer science at the National University of Singapore in 1998. I spent the next 6 years at IBM Singapore in various capacities including project management, sales and technical design for the Southeast Asia region.
As my interest in the business of technology grew I found myself lacking the skills and knowledge I felt I needed to excel in a general management role. There were several excellent programs I considered, and I decided to visit the schools before making my decision. At Tuck I fit right in. I enjoyed my time there so much that my decision was made for me.
Over the last two years, Tuck has lived up to, and indeed exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the academic rigor, ran a club and founded an outreach program for Tuck. I was also fortunate to work with an incredibly diverse group of classmates on projects ranging from launching a new public relations firm to spending three weeks in South Africa consulting for a non-profit organization. Last summer I interned with Symantec Corporation in Silicon Valley developing a sales and marketing strategy for one of their business units. After Tuck I will be working with McKinsey & Co at their Stamford, CT office.
As I look back the thing that strikes me most about the environment at Tuck is the enthusiasm in the air. Students at Tuck are limited only by their imaginations in getting the most out of the program. Faculty, administration, alumni and classmates go out of their way to support and encourage us in any idea or initiative we come up with.
