Overview
The San Francisco State University (SFSU) is the California State University (CSU) in San Francisco, one of the world's most dynamic and exciting business environments. It was founded in 1899 and is one of 23 universities in the public CSU system. The College of Business at SFSU, founded in 1947, is one of the largest business schools in the US. It has offered an MBA degree since 1966 and has been accredited by AACSB, the premier accrediting body for schools of business in the world, continuously since 1970. The mission of the College of Business is to provide high quality business education to a diverse learning community through innovative teaching, research and support. The College of Business strives to reinforce basic skills and substantive business knowledge that can be adapted and applied throughout the students’careers. Its faculty is committed to the study, understanding, advancement and diffusion of knowledge through research that improves global business practice.
Its partner, the Business Management Institute of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (IAE) is dedicated to conducting research and providing education in finance and management and is particularly adapted to today’s global market expectations. Its mission is likewise to provide future executives with a high quality business education through innovative management methods. Many faculty members are professionals providing hands on knowledge of business practice. Located near Sophia Antipolis, a major technology hub, the Business Management Institute is at the heart of research and innovation in Europe.
Created jointly by these two forward-thinking public universities, this program provides the opportunity for students to gain an AACSB-accredited American MBA and a European Masters degree at the same time.
It is specifically thought out for the global professional who wants to be able to work in various cultural environments.
All instruction is in English and combines case methods, lectures, and other progressive instructional techniques. During each of four semesters, students study two courses, beginning with eight weeks of distance learning. Students can follow online lectures at their convenience, online chats and forums involving the professors and the other students, and interactive voice, video, and document communication with the professors and fellow students.
The students then complete one week of intensive instruction with the professors to gain directly from their knowledge and experience. This combination of distance learning and in-person instruction combines the best of both methods to give the student both flexibility and an outstanding educational experience.
