Overview
As a leading university for business and economics the FOM is bound by the highest quality standards. The results of regular and differentiated evaluations testify to the high degree of student satisfaction. The FIBAA accreditation in 2003 with the overall rating of »very good to excellent« is a guarantee for your first-class education and states that the MBA Programme offered by the FOM possesses »a remarkably high degree of excellence in many important areas«.
The 2006 FIBAA re-accreditation confirmed the FOM qualitiy standards impressively.
FOM was the first institution of higher education in North Rhine-Westphalia accredited by the number one science committee in Germany, the Science Council.
The FOM is Germany's first institution of higher education that was founded by economic associations. These founding associations eventually transferred the
sponsorship and responsibility to a non-profit foundation. The close ties to the business world are the reason for the very strong practical focus of the MBA Programme at the FOM. Representatives of the companies and associations
on the Advisory Board for the MBA Programme ensure that the education of future business leaders is closely geared to the needs of the real business world. The proximity to the business reality is not only reflected in the lesson plan of the FOM but also in the selection of the lecturers for the MBA Programme. All our classes are taught by university professors with management experience or international consultants and business leaders who make sure that your course of study meets the academic standards as well as the requirements of the day-to-day activities in management.
Student profile
The MBA Programme at the FOM addresses to university graduates from all fields, who have several years of professional experience. Engineers, scientists, lawyers and graduates with a degree in liberal arts or social sciences use the MBA Programme to add to their special knowledge in their respective fields the economic know-how that they need for management positions. Graduates in economics and/or business administration update their expertise and acquire additional competencies for the international business world. They all benefit from the diverse experiences and points of view that each person brings to the programme from his or her personal background. This enables them to attain a level that is well beyond the level of a traditional university programme.
