Nottingham University Business School is among the top ten business schools in the UK. We rank 6th among UK business schools in the 2009 Independent Good University Guide and we are among the few UK business schools in the 2009 Financial Times global top 100 MBA, where our alumni rated us 2nd best in the world for Corporate Social Responsibility. Our internship programme will help you to plan practical individual or group projects in the UK or overseas with regional or international companies and organisations such as Experian, Alliance Boots, Rolls-Royce, and Business in the Community.

Our MBA offers more than 25 electives, including entrepreneurship, management consulting, international finance, ethical finance, corporate governance and accountability, venture capital, and organisational theory and culture. We also offer popular language courses in French, Spanish, Arabic or Mandarin, and full-time course members take courses in interpersonal management skills.

We offer several scholarships and bursaries for applicants from overseas, the UK and EU.

We have a full-time MBA careers adviser providing career counselling, psychometric tests, seminars, and information about employers and vacancies.

Postgraduate accommodation is available on or near to the Jubilee Campus, which includes a postgraduate residence hall. All rooms have en-suite facilities, telephone and data links. Leisure facilities are excellent both on and off campus. Jubilee Campus has a bank, bookshop, cafés, restaurants, sports centre, and shop. Extensive new facilities opened in Autumn 2008, including a Centre for Integrative Learning that supports participants on our MBA in Entrepreneurship in fully realising their potential.

I worked as an IT Manager before deciding to study for my MBA at Nottingham, which I chose to enhance my understanding of business at management level. My intention was for a strategic change in career direction with the MBA as the vehicle to create new opportunities.

The course is an intensive and richly rewarding programme. Working in small teams to regular deadlines enhanced my communication and team working skills. It also taught me how to manage regular and sometimes conflicting obligations. Teams were international with members coming from diverse backgrounds and work experience.

The MBA has given me the confidence to apply a wide range of business skills in future roles. Particularly useful were in class group exercises requiring quick thinking about real life business case studies. Afterwards we were often required to present our findings to the class, an experience that greatly enhanced my presentation skills.

My year at Nottingham culminated in a management project investigating the potential to implement an alternative pricing model in UK law firms. The project allowed me to demonstrate many of the skills that I had learned on the course. The MBA was a challenging, but immensely enjoyable experience. I would thoroughly recommend it.
