Overview
ABOUT THUNDERBIRD
Consistently ranked No. 1 in international business education (U.S. News & World Report 2011 and Financial Times 2010), Thunderbird was founded more than 60 years ago as the world’s first school to focus exclusively on international management. Often compared to a mini-United Nations with its diverse student population from more than 50 countries, Thunderbird teaches students to conduct business as citizens of the world - and, in doing so, to help make the world a better place. The school’s commitment to global citizenship is reinforced by its "Oath of Honor" - a creed all students sign and recite, pledging to uphold ethical and sustainable standards in business. Thunderbird’s oath is believed to be the first of its kind to be adopted by a business school.

Student profile
At Thunderbird, we don't just embrace diversity - we're defined by it. Students come to Thunderbird from all over the world. Their cultures, backgrounds and ambitions exemplify the global mindset needed to be successful leaders in a rapidly globalizing economy. Often compared to a mini-United Nations with its diverse student population from more than 50 countries, T-birds get a personal glimpse into other cultures, taking them far beyond stereotypes and providing them with a framework for cross-cultural interactions on the personal and professional scale.
Thunderbirds are as unique as the countries and backgrounds they come from, but they do share common traits. They are risk-takers and problem solvers, and they think globally. Whether working with faculty, peers or the online T-bird community, students forge strong bonds at Thunderbird, creating lifelong relationships and memories.
In addition to the global academic experience at Thunderbird, students also enjoy a bustling social scene on campus, whether at the Thunderbird Pub, the Commons, at club events or at cultural/regional nights featuring the customs, cuisine and traditional entertainment of various nations. There are more than 60 professional, regional, social and sports clubs that actively contribute to the school's intellectual and cross-cultural environment. In addition, Thunderbird's strong student government plays an active role, with representation from a broad cross-section of the student body.
