Willamette's MBA programs develop the knowledge and experience needed to prepare for your first professional career position, career change or advancement in business, government and not-for-profit organizations. Programs include the Early Career MBA, the MBA for Career Change and the MBA for Professionals program.
All Willamette MBA programs emphasize hands-on learning and develop the knowledge, professional resume and interpersonal skills sought by employers. In addition, all Willamette MBA programs are accredited by AACSB International – the global hallmark of excellence in business education
Early Career MBA and MBA for Career Change
Willamette’s Early Career MBA and MBA for Career Change are full-time programs specifically designed to prepare students for career entry or career change. In just 21 months, Willamette MBA students learn the core principles of management, refine their career interests, develop an in-depth understanding of one or more career areas of interest, and build the portfolio of experience needed to succeed in a competitive job market
The full-time curriculum is project based and cross-functional. From the first day of class, students apply what they learn to real organizations. Class consulting projects, internships, in-depth case studies, the Student Investment Fund, the PACE program, and a complete program of career services offer powerful opportunities for professional development.
Areas of interest include accounting: entrepreneurship; finance: general management; human resources; marketing; operations, analysis and systems; organizational analysis, public and not-for-profit management; and sustainability management.
The MBA for Professionals
Willamette’s MBA for Professionals provides practicing managers with three or more years of work experience the opportunity to complete their MBA while employed. The program offers the rare combination of a quality AACSB International accredited MBA, experiential learning and convenient evening classes.
Students learn from Willamette MBA professors who emphasize an integrated and practical approach to management concepts. The distinct structure of the program helps students immediately apply what they learn to their job and accelerate their career in their organizations. The MBA for Professionals can be completed in 24 months of evening study. The program is cohort based and available in Portland and Salem

Student Profile - Full-Time MBA
Students in the Early Career MBA or the MBA for Career Change programs are preparing for their first professional position or career change in business, government or not-for-profit organizations. They come from around the world and across the United States. The average student is 24 years of age and has from zero to three years of full-time work experience. Forty percent of the students are women, and 60 percent are men. Thirty-eight percent are international students, and 16 percent are members of U.S. multicultural groups. Undergraduate major areas of study include business, social science, liberal arts, economics, engineering, math, and science.
Student Profile – MBA for Professionals
MBA for Professionals are preparing for career advancement and enhancement. Students in the MBA for Professionals program have at least three years of full-time professional experience and are fully employed while completing their MBA. They represent a wide variety of organizations from the Portland metropolitan area (business, consulting, entrepreneurial ventures, government, not-for-profits). The average student is 33 years of age and has 3 to 25 years of work experience. Thirty-nine percent of students are women, and 61 percent are men. Undergraduate major areas of study include business, social science, liberal arts, economics, engineering, math, and science.
