The Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) is a highly prestigious private university in Chile. It was originally located in the beautiful port city of Valparaiso, in the former home of the poet Pablo Neruda. The university enjoys international accreditation by AACSB and AMBA and in 1979 its business school was the first to introduce an MBA program in Chile.

The UAI International MBA program seeks to transform the lives of its students. Not merely by arming them with knowledge, but with providing the necessary tools to influence and change the state of business today. The 12-month program is taught in the capital Santiago, by academics with impeccable credentials, and has links to some of the most prestigious firms in Chile. There is a 65% acceptance rate onto the program, with a steady stream of applicants each year. Students tend to be around 29/30 years of age and male (70%). To apply, candidates must complete an online application form, submit their university degree certificate and exam transcripts, have a minimum of three years’ work experience, take a written exam in Spanish and English, and attend an interview. The cost of the program, which can be paid in four installments, is US$38,000.

Academically, this immersive MBA program is a mixture of compulsory courses that lay down the fundamentals of business, and electives that give students the chance to specialize in accordance with their interests and ambitions. These include electives in digital strategy, entrepreneurship and social innovation, leadership, and digital marketing. The final project sees students work directly with businesses in a consultative project, as well as forming teams and presenting their business plans. The full-time MBA also offers an immersion program that sees students get to know more about the world of business in Latin America, through visits and meetings with directors of firms embedded in the region.

Given that the full-time MBA at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez is the oldest in all Chile, its graduates are well placed to launch themselves into high powered business careers. Around 90% of each intake finds themselves in a job within three months of the end of the program, with the marketing and finance industries typical destinations.
