Is it possible to specialise in one area of study?

The MBA requires completion of 12 credit points comprising 8 credit points of core units and 4 credit points of elective units and may include one specialisation. Current specialisations include: Accounting , Arts and Entertainment Management, Business Analytics, Business Consulting, Corporate Governance, eBusiness and Supply Chain, Management, Environmental Sustainability, Finance, Financial Planning, Health and Human Services Management, Human Resource Management , Innovation, Insurance and Risk Management, International and Community Development, International Trade and Business, Law, Leadership, Marketing, Project Management, Property and Real Estate, Public Management, Research Project, Retail Management, Strategy and Planning.

What are the entry requirements?

Completion of a tertiary program equivalent to not less than 3 years of full-time study at a university or other approved educational institution and 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) managerial or professional work experience, or for those without a degree, a masters degree may be accepted in lieu of a 3-year bachelor degree and 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) managerial or professional work experience, or a graduate certificate in a cognate area plus 5 years minimum professional or managerial work experience.

Can I obtain credit for prior learning?

The University aims to provide students with as much credit as possible for approved prior study or informal learning which exceeds the normal entrance requirements for the course and is within the constraints of the course regulations. Students are required to complete a minimum of one-third of the course at Deakin University, or four credit points, whichever is the greater. In the case of certificates, including graduate certificates, a minimum of two credit points within the course must be completed at Deakin.
