About Lazaridis School of Business and Economics

At Laurier we aspire to the highest levels of personal, professional, and academic accomplishment. You’ll discover that a Laurier MBA is a transformative experience opening doors and expanding perspectives to a world of possibilities. Our students leave with more than an MBA - they're ready to make a significant and personal mark in organizational life. Students completing their MBA at our downtown Toronto campus benefit from our alternating weekend schedule and may enhance it with the CPA Option, or the double-degree, MBA with Master of Finance, which covers CFA® exam preparation. Waterloo candidates will complete their MBA either part-time evenings, or full-time in one year. Strong undergraduates can apply to the co-op option to gain 8 months of work experience while pursuing their MBA. Eleven fields of specialization are offered within the elective requirement. Innovation is a hallmark at Laurier. Laurier was the first Canadian MBA program to introduce an effective “integrated method” of teaching the core business courses, and the first school to offer a full-time 1 year MBA program. Our MBA students will complete a not-for-profit practicum emphasizing Laurier's focus on social justice.

FAQs

Yes, the Waterloo MBA programs application deadline is May 1st and the Toronto MBA programs application deadline is February 1st of each year. We encourage applicants to apply as soon as they are ready, as we have rolling admission to all of our programs. This means “Offers of Admission” are awarded all year-round to successful candidates for the upcoming intake date of each program. Please note: all international candidates must have their applications in by January 15th of each year.
Here's the full list: http://lauriermba.ca/admissions-requirements-mba-programs-in-canada/
Applicants can certainly start the process of applying, by submitting some of their application, especially completing the online portion. However, the admission committee will not assess the application until all necessary documents have been fully received. (For example, a successful GMAT score, if required).
No, a business background is not required. You will be taught all of the fundamental areas of business in our very effective “Laurier Integrated core curriculum.”
All applicants whose previous degree was achieved outside of Canada are eligible to apply to the full content one year MBA or the MBA with Co-op at Laurier in Waterloo. However, you may need to have your previous degrees and diplomas assessed by an agency. We often refer our international candidates to WES, ICAS, or Ontario Comparative Service. Simply request a general assessment of your previous degree(s) from them to determine the comparative level of education in Canadian academic standards. We welcome international candidates to our MBA program.
