MBA

The Robert J. Trulaske Sr College of Business at the University of Missouri boldly aims to ignite the next generation of business leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Named after alumnus and captain of industry Bob Trulaske, the school was established in 1914 as the University of Missouri College of Business, at a time when increasing industrial modernization made formal business education a growing necessity. It was the first business school to run an accredited business program and has a tradition of scholarship and teaching that remains to this day.

The Crosby full-time MBA, named after former student Gordon E. Crosby Jr, was established in 1964.  It is an AACSB-accredited two-year program that admits around 100 new students in both the fall and spring semesters. Prior work experience is not compulsory, though the school clearly views it as an advantage. The application process is simple: candidates must submit an application form, resume, essay question responses, university transcripts and degree certificates, and GMAT/GRE scores. Recommendation letters are optional.  The school proudly describes its full-time MBA as “affordable”, with fees weighted heavily in favor of Missouri residents, who pay US$29,197 as opposed to US$64,868 for non-residents. That said, over half of all Crosby MBA students receive tuition and fee waivers, and all students admitted to the program are automatically considered for financial support awards.

Academically, the Crosby full-time MBA is a personalized curriculum that builds a solid business foundation through core courses before allowing students to branch out and focus on the areas of study they are most interested in. The main focus throughout is on career preparation; a career and professional development class allows students to explore opportunities in their chosen industry by networking with peers and business leaders as well as engaging in site visits, case competitions, and career project teams.

Given the focus on career outcomes, it is no surprise that in recruiter assessments conducted by The Wall Street Journal and U.S. News & World Report, Crosby MBA students are seen as well-prepared, highly skilled contributors in the global business environment. A high percentage of graduates (91% in 2016-17) find employment within three months of graduation. Recent hirers of Crosby MBA graduates include Amazon, Boeing, PwC, and IBM.
