About California State University Northridge

Securing competitive advantage in today's global, information-driven business world requires a mix of skills unheard of even five years ago. That's true for companies and for individuals. At Bentley, students gain the depth and breadth of expertise critical for moving ahead in their current field or changing careers, from an institution whose resources and focus are fully committed to the study of business. Students have ready access to specialized, up-to-the-minute business knowledge; sophisticated, technology-intensive facilities; and faculty with real-world credentials who are leaders in their respective fields.Bentley offers both Full-Time and Part-time MBA programs as well as 7 Masters of Science (MS) programs. The Bentley MBA launching in August 2012, moves away from presenting business through stand-alone disciplines such as marketing, finance and accounting. It focuses instead on business as a complex social system of interactions by individuals – people who must anticipate and manage change, think and work cross culturally, and understand their own leadership style. The 11-month MBA bucks tradition in both content and delivery. Students pursue four 10-week modules, co-designed by faculty in business disciplines and the arts and sciences to cover four themes: innovation, value, environments and leadership. Each module comprises eight weeks of class work and two weeks of travel. During the latter, which includes two trips abroad, students work directly with corporations, NGOs and government agencies they have been in contact with throughout the module; the collaboration aims to address pressing issues at the host’s location. The new Emerging Leaders MBA is a two-year program designed for young professionals with little or no work experience that immerses students in both strategic business processes and information technology (IT) applications critical to effective management and business operations. Developed in consultation with business professionals from leading companies across a range of industries, this program is specifically designed to prepare MBA graduates to become leaders in today's knowledge economy. The Professional Part-time MBA is designed for working professionals. Emphasizing flexibility and credit for prior academic work, the program ensures students develop an understanding of major business issues and the integration of information technology into key functional areas such as accounting, finance, marketing and management. A Bentley education focuses on business, technology, leadership, ethics and management, all of which leading organizations recognize as critical. Courses, programs and other opportunities develop students' skills in ethical reasoning and decision-making, their understanding of global and cross-cultural issues, and their ability to communicate clearly, manage conflict and build consensus. The knowledge and skills needed to lead in today’s business world go far beyond mastering the latest software or systems in a given field. A wide range of facilities at Bentley help graduate students explore their chosen field and understand business practice in its broadest context. The Financial Trading Room, Center for Marketing Technologies, Design and Usability Center; and Accounting Center for Electronic Learning and Measurement are among the hallmarks of advanced technologies available to students. Bentley's Graduate Career Center helps graduate students explore career paths, build networking techniques and develop skills necessary for successful job search or career advancement. The career advising staff is knowledgeable about job market trends and career development issues. In addition, local, national and international employers, representing a variety of business, industry, government and nonprofit organizations, recruit on campus. Bentley offers the best of both worlds: an academic environment free of outside distractions, and close proximity to the professional, educational and cultural resources of Boston, a metropolitan city rich in history and spirit. Graduate Assistantships and Academic Scholarshipsare available for full-time students. They are very competitive and are awarded primarily based on academic merit. The amount of the awards will vary by student qualifications. Graduate Assistantships and Reserch Assistantships have a on-campus work requirement in a variety of research, educational and administrative activities.
