Hull University Business School

Overview

Success in business requires an understanding of the complexities in the global business environment, recognising the connections that make a difference, and the ability to lead change in a responsible way – an approach we call Connected Thinking.

Our holistic perspective is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that all who learn and engage with us – whether they are undergraduate, postgraduate or from business – are equipped to succeed in a fast-changing, competitive world.

We deliver high-quality learning and teaching, house a vibrant and internationally-active research community, and offer executive programmes and bespoke business consultancy services.

This 'real-world' interaction makes certain that our academic programmes are tied to the needs of the modern business environment, as well as being influenced by the very latest research. All of this ensures that our graduates are well equipped for career development in an increasingly competitive employment market or to pursue further study or research opportunities.

Independent accreditation and assessment has confirmed our commitment to
quality across all areas of the school, and recognition from two of the leading global accreditation systems for business schools (AMBA and EQUIS) confirms our status as a leading UK business school. We are also proud to be one of the first academic institutions to sign up to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative and to be an active part of the European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS).

The quality of our teaching and learning has been rated as 'excellent' and we achieved a score of 23/24 in the last QAA review.

Following the last Research Assessment Exercise, 85% of research
returned by the school was classed as of an international standard, with over half of that judged to be ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

The outstanding premises of the school combine refurbished listed buildings and new build to provide inspirational surroundings and state-of-the-art facilities for staff and the 3,000-plus students enrolled with us. The Logistics Institute, based at the school, is a world-class facility in global logistics, supply chain management and related technologies, further adding to our existing strengths and expertise.
