The Executive MBA takes place in four, month-long, fully residential modules over a 14-month period. This structure allows participants to contain the demands of work, study and home life. An overseas module takes place at leading global business schools: Kellogg in Chicago, USA, and WHU in Koblenz, Germany. Students also travel to Beijing and Shanghai for an academic program developed and delivered by MBS faculty, which includes guest speakers and company visits.

Melbourne Business School has received independent quality assurance by two global business school accreditation bodies. The School has had full Equis accreditation since 2006 and gained AACSB accreditation in 2011.
