Tsinghua School of Economics and Management (SEM) was one of the first nine business schools in China to begin pilot MBA education back in 1991. Later, in collaboration with MIT Sloan School of Management, the School launched International MBA (IMBA) in 1997. In more than ten years, the IMBA program has rapidly developed into one of the most influential MBA programs in China. The program is decided to cultivating future leaders with great management capability. A well-diversified elite student body with a balance of half Chinese and half international creates a multi-cultural learning atmosphere.
As part of Tsinghua SEMs continuous efforts to improve how it prepares MBA students for tomorrows business challenges, the school restructured its MBA curriculum in 2009, which attaches great importance to the three core learning elements: the theories and frameworks used by top managers to make decisions (knowing), the techniques and skills needed for students to become strong, effective mangers (doing), and the values, attitudes and ethics that will guide them as future leaders in China and the world (being). Through the IMBA education, students could enhance their management capabilities and broaden their vision and network by participating in activities such as applied learning programs, MIT-Tsinghua China Lab, China Roots, international exchange programs, overseas study strips, corporate visits, case competitions and Alumni Mentorship Program.
Besides the International MBA Program, Tsinghua SEM also offers full-time and part-time MBA program in which Chinese is the language of instruction. Today, we are proud of our more than 7,000 MBA graduates, who have gone on to make important contributions locally and internationally.
