The Australian National University, ANU College of Business and Economics

Overview

The ANU College of Business and Economics teaches specialist management programs at The Australian National University, one of Australia's top ranked universities*.

The ANU College of Business and Economics specialises in post-graduate management education and research, offering programs from Graduate Certificate level to Master of Management, MBA and PhD degrees.

Some of the special features of the ANU MBA are:

- The ANU College of Business and Economics is a specialised school where teaching is personalised and staff student interaction is high. The students are not just one of a very large group as each MBA class is limited to around 60 students.

- The MBA allows students to select a specialised stream in one of the disciplines in which ANU has a world renowned reputation. These specialised streams include Managing in the Asia-Pacific Region, Marketing, Finance, Innovation, Technology and Commercialisation, Leadership, Regulation Management, Project Management and, given ANU’s location in Australia’s federal capital, the Business of Government. For students who seek a broader based program, the option to tailor the MBA to individual needs is also available.

- Since its establishment in 1994 the ANU MBA has continued to attract high quality students. Its MBA alumni now hold leadership positions in the corporate and government worlds in Australia and internationally. The ANU College of Business and Economics provides graduates with a quality alumni network operating in over 40 countries around the world.

- ANU MBA students have the opportunity to study in a purpose built facility, dedicated to the teaching of postgraduate management programs. The building is separated from the undergraduate teaching areas of the ANU to ensure students’ educational experience is shared with more mature students.

- The MBA offers a real-life opportunity to develop and implement a new venture business plan for a company. This is not a simulation as students work with companies based in Canberra and around Australia to assist in developing new business.

- All students must have a minimum of 3 years work experience so students are guaranteed to have class colleagues who add value to their professional education experience.

- The intensive mode of study means students can complete the MBA in as little as 12 months of full time study, though most take approximately 18 months.

The ANU is situated a few minutes walk from the heart of Canberra, the capital of Australia. For over fifty years, the ANU has been Australia’s leading academic research institution and its only national university.
