The Business School

The Program
Our next Full-Time MBA programme starts in September 2010. At TiasNimbas we believe it is never too early to prepare for the right business school that fits your educational needs. Our goal in the admissions process is to indentify and enroll individuals with strong leadership potential. Who also will enhance the diversity in their classroom and can contribute in a positive way to their peer-group. We seek candidates who have solid professional experience and demonstrate strong ethics and social responsibility.

Our programme is designed to deliver to you the competences that you need. It’s based on three pillars:
1. Functional: understanding behaviour in organisations, business economics, accounting, research, operation management, marketing management and financial management
2. Integrative: your personal development programme, business simulation, strategic management, governance & corporate responsibility, innovation, entrepreneurship and cross cultural change
3. Contextual: a real management project, a study trip to a relevant challenging organisation in Europe and corporate responsibility at the interface between business and society

The Faculty
We put our best faculty on this programme. We carefully select them based on their experience and success in management education for professionals, as well as their ability to translate and communicate new knowledge. But most important is their passion for practice to the classroom. Our full-time MBA faculty is highly international with professors from Australia, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, USA and the UK.

Entry Requirements

• A Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited institution
• GMAT test must be taken (score must be over 550 points/test remains valid for three years. Our institution code is 23X-5F-I2)
• Proficiency in English. For all non-native speakers, a TOEFL (institution code: 8614); or IELTS
• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• You will have to do an interview, either in person or an in-depth telephone interview (please note: admissions interviews are conducted solely at the invitation of the admissions committee)

TiasNimbas Business School is accredited by the London-based Association of MBAs. British students are therefore eligible to participate in the AMBA Business School Loan Scheme.

Location
The Netherlands are considered to be probably the most international gateway to Europe. Since the middle ages, the Netherlands were the trading capital of Europe with strong harbours and a trade minded-people. To this day, they still are. One of the reasons is this country’s openness and ability to adapt easily. Almost everyone speaks and understands English. That makes the Netherlands the choice for head offices of numerous international companies.

TiasNimbas Business School has campuses in both Tilburg and Utrecht. Utrecht lies in the centre of the Netherlands and has been one of the cultural and knowledge centres since Roman times. With its canals and historic centre, Utrecht looks like a small version of Amsterdam. Life in Utrecht (pop. 300.000, of which 65.000 are students) is safe, quite relaxed but still with a vibrant social and cultural life.

The TiasNimbas Tilburg campus is situated on the University of Tilburg campus. Modern and compact with cyber café’s, e-learning centres, hypermodern library, it’s an oasis in the middle of a small forest. The whole campus has wireless internet.

Both campuses are located in the middle of the Netherlands. Easy to reach and easy to travel from. A one or two hour drive gets you into Amsterdam, Brussels or Cologne. Easy fast trains connect you to Paris within 4 hours and Brussels within 2 hours. Schiphol Airport, the gateway to Europe, is at approximately one hour by train or car. And Rotterdam Airport, Eindhoven Airport or Weeze Airport with their budget airlines are easy to reach.

Accommodation
We will help you find suitable housing or lodging in Utrecht. All within walking distance from the campus. So you can experience the vibrant city life in Utrecht at your best. You will live in the historic and vibrant city center of Utrecht with their canals and roman buildings.

Student Life
Utrecht has a bustling student community, which offers plenty of opportunity for extracurricular activities. There are many different student organisations and societies in Utrecht. Some of them are internationally oriented; they organise lectures and excursions.
