UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

Overview

UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is Ireland’s leading business
school and research centre. A school of University College Dublin (founded
in 1854 with a current student population of over 23,000 including 4,000
international students), we offer the benefits of Ireland’s largest university
with the intimacy of a dedicated campus. The Smurfit MBA is an
international programme delivered by a school with nearly 50 years
experience of the MBA.

We are the only business school in Ireland and one of a small group of
schools worldwide to hold the ‘triple crown’ of accreditation from the three
centres of business and academic excellence, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
These accreditations benchmark us against the best in the world and are
your guarantee that you will receive a top quality, world class MBA. Our
MBA programmes are consistently ranked in the world’s top 100 and
Europe’s top 50 by the Financial Times and the Economist Intelligence Unit.
In 2012, our full-time MBA programme was ranked 12th in the world by the FT for return on investment (ROI) while Dublin, our capital city, was ranked the joint 8th best student city in the world by QS.

Ireland’s worldwide reputation for high quality education is built on the
solid foundation of commitment to excellence. Ireland is a beautiful
island, combining contemporary modern cities with an unspoilt
countryside, offering cityscapes steeped in history and landscapes lush
with a rich natural habitat. Renowned for friendliness, our safe, English
speaking country offers the warmest of welcomes to students from all
over the world.

Dublin is one of Europe’s oldest cities and has a long history of academic
excellence. A vibrant and multi-cultural city, it was recently voted as the
world's 8th best city to study in by QS. Dublin is a diverse business hub
and is currently home to the European Headquarters for many
multinational organisations including Google, Facebook and Twitter.
Dublin brings together the best of traditional Ireland as well as modern
Europe. While renowned for its pubs, cafes and nightlife, you're never far
from the sea or the green hills of the countryside.

“The Smurfit MBA not only changed my perspectives on business, but also on myself as a person. Through the classroom interactions and Leadership
Development Programme, I learned about team and group dynamics and the personality types that drive people to interact the way they do.”
Valerie Price, United States, Full-Time MBA 2012
