While face-to-face recruitment events and participation in international recruitment fairs has been postponed, we run regular online info sessions for all our MBA programs and we launched a new suite of Graduate Certificate programs in mid-May. Our Recruitment and Admissions team work remotely and are fully operational and available to support prospective students.     Some of the actions undertaken include:  Student services engaged with current students immediately to open a dialogue and ensure students had the opportunity to contribute feedback to the design and delivery of the program in T2.   AGSM EMBA students could enrol in the online MBAX courses in T2 – designed to be delivered fully online with virtual workshops, facilitated and self-directed course work and assignments designed to be applied immediately to the workplace. Having a strong suite on online offerings has meant that for students enrolled in our blended or face-to-face programs there is no disruption to their ability to progress in degrees.  We are as flexible as possible to make it easier for our students to manage through this difficult time. For many the challenges of moving to working from home and having to home school their children impacted their study schedule, so we are more flexible with due dates for assignments etc.   We have developed a fully online orientation and onboarding program to set up new students for success and connect them with the AGSM community. It includes a series of virtual activities throughout their first term to connect them to AGSM support teams and fellow students, make sure they know what resources are available.  We are also developing a flexible return-to-campus plan that will allow us manage an orderly and staged return when and as this becomes possible within social distancing guidelines, prioritising those courses that would benefit most from a face-to-face format.  Careers Services continue to provide career coaching to support students looking for new a role or for a career change. Because we have a large online MBA program, much of our career support and career development services were available online already. As we had to move away from in-person activities during COVID-19 restrictions, we have ramped up our online support. We increased the amount of career coaching and support that we provide to our students because the employment market is likely to shift quite dramatically in the coming months. One initiative that has been quite successful is connecting current Full-Time MBA students with the cohort that graduated during the Global Financial Crisis so they can learn from their experience of entering the job market in challenging times.  We are also really conscious of our duty to keep our community informed during these uncertain times. For this reason we have been running webinars for students and alumni community with experts from AGSM and across the University of New South Wales around key topics including leadership in crisis, the economic, technological and mental health impact of COVID-19. This series also helped MBA students connect with industry leaders and business people currently leading teams and organisations through crisis, offering first hand examples of the immediate challenges and opportunities they are facing.
