How do I apply to an ESMT Berlin program?

To begin the admissions process, applicants complete an online application. There is no application fee. The application is easy to follow, and will ask you for the following information:

·         Personal data
·         Your academic and professional background
·         Essay questions
·         Your CV
·         Two recommendations
·        GMAT or GRE test scores - (Either GMAT or GRE is required for MBA applicants. MIM applicants may not need to submit test results. EMBA applicants can also choose to take the ESMT Admissions test instead.)
·         Copies of your university transcripts
·         English test results, such as TOEFL or IELTS, if required

Upon completion of your application the Office of Admissions will contact you with the next steps for personal interview and any remaining questions. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until about one month prior to the start of each program. Once your complete application is received, you should receive a decision within 2-4 weeks.

If I don't speak German, can I find a job in Germany after the MBA?

Yes, but there are never any guarantees!

On average, about 10-20% of our MBA students speak German fluently or to a business-level equivalency. However, each year almost 90% of graduates work in Germany following the MBA program. This means that many non-German speakers do find work in Germany. It is easy to live in Berlin and use English as your main language. Companies are often looking for the unique skills that you bring to their offices as a top criteria. The career services section of the ESMT website has lots of information about jobs graduates are working in following their time at ESMT.

Germany has very favorable working visa regulations for university graduates, who are able to stay in the country for 18 months after graduation and easily obtain working visas.

We do, however, encourage you to study German either through the optional program prior to the MBA or classes during the program. Speaking German will no doubt provide you with many more options during your job search and help with your integration. An individualized career services networking and mentoring approach during the MBA, to help offset this.
