About Waseda Business School

Waseda Business School (WBS) - Graduate School of Business and Finance, a part of Waseda University is to educate students to become business leaders who are able to contribute to international society by applying their highly-developed skills and acumen in business and finance – the end result of an educational philosophy which integrates advanced theory and cutting-edge practice.

WBS will confer, onto those persons who have completed a business education program that reflects the latest research findings, based on appropriate standards of evaluation, and who have acquired high-level practical expertise and decision-making skills as business leaders, the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA), and to those who have acquired advanced financial knowledge and theory based on international standards, the degree of Master of Science in Finance (MSc in Finance). We have three programs which are all conducted in English (Some courses are also available in Japanese)

The International MBA Program
The International MBA program is a full-time, two-year program conducted in English. It is our premier MBA program. It is designed to provide an abundance of international exposure with the objective of educating students to become global business leaders.

WASEDA-NANYANG Double MBA Program
The Waseda-Nanyang Double MBA Program is an accelerated 14-month program that combines the strengths of two of the top business schools in Asia. It has a dual focus on global business and management of technology and is the only dual-degree MBA program in the world that starts in Singapore and ends in Tokyo.

MSc in Finance Program
MSc in Finance Program is a daytime, two-year program conducted in English. It is designed to cultivate human resources with the financial knowledge and technical know-how needed for entrepreneurial activities.

WBS is able to provide a well-balanced, educational curriculum through an extensive array of elective courses, including the cultivation of global perspectives and professional ethics, in order that it can offer a wealth of learning opportunities in theoretical and empirical approaches, as well as in the application thereof.

University information

Waseda Business School conducts several kinds of screening methods, depending on the program. Information is listed below on each of the screening methods and how to apply for our school.

Admissions – Waseda Business School(Graduate School of Business and Finance)

Waseda Business School is located in one of Waseda University’s newest buildings – Building 11 – on the main Waseda Campus. The building was completed in 2009 with financial support from Daiwa Securities Group Inc., one of the largest securities firms in Japan. The building has multiple classroom layouts and each classroom is outfitted with up-to-date teaching technology.

WBS students mainly take classes on the 9th and 11th floors. Students may reserve classrooms for group study sessions when the rooms are not being used for classes. Building 11 has numerous network access points enabling students to access the Waseda University high-speed wireless network.

Employability

The WBS Career Management Center (CMC) was established to provide career support services specific to the needs of business school students. In addition to conducting various orientation seminars, CMC also circulates an email newsletter called “Weekly Newsletter” sent out each Thursday and posts announcements at the WBS Administrative Office and at the CMC Counseling Room. Individual counseling on career-related topics is available for students enrolled in the following programs: International MBA, MSc in Finance, and One-year MBA(Japanese).
