Round one MBA admissions application deadlines for full-time programs starting next fall are fast-approaching.

As reported on TopMBA.com recently, opening application deadlines for top US business schools kick in as early as September, but the same is equally true in both Europe and Asia Pacific for those schools offering a full-time MBA program with an equivalent start date.

These earliest rounds in the MBA admissions process have been subjected to suggestions that they target the crème de la crème of applicants – for example, those who possess impossibly high GMAT scores.

Of course, this is nothing more than myth. The simple truth is that come the end of round one, there will be fewer places available at a school’s MBA program and, for this reason the competition isn’t likely to be any less intense in the later stages of a school’s MBA admissions process.

If you want to make the dates detailed below, then ideally you should have already started preparing for your application – however, it’s not too late to forget the staycation and turn some August vacation time into an MBAcation.

Conversely, rushing to meet round one MBA program application deadlines could make your application look, well, rushed – and that certainly won’t do you any favors.

Whether or not meeting round one is your aim, key among MBA admissions tips is the need for planning – the space between schools’ application deadlines will of course vary along with an individual’s choices, so being familiar with the MBA admissions dates of your preferred schools should ensure you don’t get tripped up by discovering late-on that their MBA program application deadline days run unerringly side-by-side.
