ESADE BAN Helps Entrepreneurs Raise €4m: MBA News

ESADE business school's network of business angels (ESADE BAN) have helped organise the third Cleantech Investment Forum, which has now aided 11 entrepreneurs attract funding of €4.27 million over the three years it has been operating.
 
The Cleantech Investment Forum, organised by the City of Barcelona, the Repsol Foundation, and KIC InnoEnergy alongside ESADE BAN, aims to be a meeting point for investors and entrepreneurs looking to raise funding for energy efficiency initiatives.

In total, 21 entrepreneurial finalists have resulted from the projects presented at the forum over the last two editions, with capital raised from private investors interested in participating in projects related to energy efficiency, green technologies, and renewable energies.
 
"Clean energy investment has a return for society in the form of wealth creation, whether this involves encouraging research in our own country or through creating new jobs," explains Fernando Zallo, director of ESADE BAN.
 
"These forums give a boost to new ideas, since they have an increasingly widening range of investors: from retired people who believe in entrepreneurship to young people who want to back diversified projects, with smaller financial contributions".
 
This year, nine projects were pitched to potential investors including Vortex, an innovative blade-less windmill; Scutum, an electric motorbike producer; and BNStar Innovations, a company focussed on incorporating smart water management into buildings.
