The University of Iowa's Tippie MBA program has announced its own MBA admissions essay requirement revamp, with a nod towards the Web 2.0 world of business.

The news follows other top US business schools that have overhauled their MBA admissions essay requirements in the past month.

Tippie MBA Admissions Essay Slideshare Scholarship Competition

If applying before July 14th 2013, applicants to the full-time MBA at the Tippie School of Management with a flair for creating business presentations are now able to submit a Slideshare presentation in place of the two traditional MBA admissions essays the business school usually requires.

Further good news for Tippie MBA applicants is a "full-tuition financial award package valued at over $38,000 going to the admitted candidate who crafts the most creative response," explains Lydia Fine, associate director of recruiting and admissions for the Tippie MBA in a recent blog post.

"We’re always looking for new ways to get a sense of our applicants’ personalities," continues Fine. "Getting to the 'real' MBA candidate under the application is challenging, so we’re trying something new - using a tool most business professionals are already familiar with: a slide deck, aka PowerPoint presentation."

Owned by online business social networking networking giant LinkedIn, Slideshare is a community tool designed for sharing slide-based presentations online.
