The ISM Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in International Management is designed to develop tomorrow’s business leaders. It aims to educate young professionals with limited work experience for managerial leadership in profit and non-profit organizations. The program ensures that candidates develop an understanding of the various functional fields and processes that are required to successfully operate modern business enterprises.

  • Educational Background – Hold a bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited undergraduate institution
  • Work experience – at least two to three years of professional experience after finalizing your first degree

University information

In order to study MBA General Management at ISM, the university conducts an internal admission test that asseses your personality, motivation and skills. The MBA program is not restricted by a “Numerus Clausus” (NC, average grade). This is what you need for the initial check of your application at ISM:

  • a first successful degree with 210 ECTS-points from a study at a university, or of a foreign university of corresponding rank as well.
  • at least two to three years' professional experience after the first degree.
  • missing ECTS points can be replaced up to a limit of 30 ECTS points by qualified professional experience – in addition to the professional experience required above.
  • sufficient English language skills (TOEFL test, IELTS etc).
We are happy to accept your registration on an ongoing basis and will take it into account for the coming year as long as we have free places available.

 

ISM admission test

The admission test comprises preparing and presenting a case study, as well as an interview.  You willl send ISM the results of the case study by e-mail at least 2 working days before your scheduled interview. You‘ll then present your results of the case study in an oral presentation on the day of the admission test.

The goal of the interview is to get to know you and your personal background better. We are looking forward to getting to know your professional and personal goals as well as your motivation for your MBA studies.

  • Letter of motivation
  • Certified (authenticated) copy of your first degree certificate (in English or German). If you have obtained an international degree, please contact our student advisors to check admission requirements.
  • Copy of national ID card
  • Digital passport photo (color, jpg, high resolution)
  • Proof of English language knowledge (TOEFL score of at least 80, IELTS score at least 6.0 or Cambridge (FCE) test score; or a degree in English Studies, or at least 30 ECTS in an English-language higher education program; or proof of being an English native speaker.
  • Proof of health insurance in Germany (can be submitted at a later time too).
