A truly global outlook: One school, two campuses (Europe and Asia)
INSEAD has over 40 years of experience in preparing outstanding individuals for leadership positions throughout the world. Its integrative general management approach is built on synergy between research and teaching, and close ties to the business community. In addition to the MBA, INSEAD offers a PhD programme and executive development courses. There are some 21,000 INSEAD alumni around the world, of which 11,300 are MBA alumni.
The INSEAD MBA is a full-time, ten-month international general management programme offered in Fontainebleau (65 km south of Paris, in the heart of the forest of Fontainebleau) and in Singapore (Buona Vista area, amongst tropical forest in Singapore's education and new economy incubation belt). An exchange option between the two is possible. The campuses are linked electronically allowing video-conferencing and e-mail exchange. From 2002, an exchange option for elective courses will also be available with Wharton Philadelphia & San Francisco.
The programme provides an intensive and integrative simulation of the business world. An international perspective is guaranteed by the composition of the student (66 nationalities represented, with no dominant culture) and faculty bodies, and the teaching material as well as by the institute's physical location on two different continents.
Structure: Five periods of eight weeks, each ending with exams and a short break. It is composed of compulsory courses and elective courses. During the first two periods participants take core courses addressing basic methodological and functional concerns. In periods three and four, core courses combine with electives to examine more strategic and environmental issues. The final period is devoted entirely to electives and participants are free to choose particular fields of interest.
Admission is on a rolling basis and candidates are advised to apply as early as possible.
Career Management Service: Its objective is to supply the tools and information required to manage a career effectively. More than simply a placement service, it aims to assist participants in making active choices which correspond to their strengths and preferences. Over 160 international companies recruit INSEAD's MBAs on two campuses twice a year.
