The University of California's Berkeley Haas MBA program for weekends and evenings is due to have its core curriculum revised, according the business school.

The changes, which are due to take affect in fall 2014, will better support the heavy schedules of students, and aid with their learning according the Berkeley Haas MBA team.

When the changes are introduced, the weekend and evening Berkeley Haas MBA core curriculum will last for three semesters instead of the current two. Further, three courses will be added to the program's core curriculum:

•    Data and decisions,
•    Problem framing, problem solving (PFPS),
•    Applied innovation.

New and Refreshed Requirements: Weekend and Evening Berkeley Haas MBA

While the applied innovation course will be entirely new on the Berkeley Haas MBA for weekends and evenings, it has been designed to fulfil the program's experiential learning requirement. This course will require students to work as teams, applying the concepts they have learned from other courses to real life projects.

The remaining two courses have been in existence previously. The problem framing, problem solving (PFPS) course was previously a requirement on other Berkeley Haas MBA programs, while the data and decisions course previously allowed students to fulfil it in various different ways, resulting in a lack of consistent knowledge among students, according to the school.
