Anne-Titia Bov talks to TopMBA.com about her decision to do an MBA at Tuck School of Business, and about her future career ambitions. 

What were you doing before your MBA?

Civil engineer design water and wastewater treatment facilities; also involved in environmental remediation studies      

What were your main reasons for deciding to attend business school?

- Change of career path from a highly technical to a more multidisciplinary and managerial position - greater passion for professional endeavours.
- Learning
- Higher salary       

What research did you undertake in selecting your school?

- MBA rankings of program in business journals
- Feedback from existing students
- Campus visit for fit      

What were the main criteria in your selection?

- Focus of program - general management
- Culture of school
- Well-roundedness of students
- Size of program      

Why did you decide to study either in your own country or overseas?

Decided to study in US because my alternative in Europe was a one-year program which did not suit my needs (because I had no business background I though I could benefit from a longer program for more learning, and a practical experience during the summer to try something new out.)      

How well do your think the MBA is regarded in your home country?

Tuck is a small program with less name recognition than others in the US but it would be fairly easy to bring potential employers up to speed on the quality of the program.      

How are you financing your studies?

- personal finances, - parental support, - loans, - scholarship      

How much do you expect to earn on graduation?

Between 70K and 100K initially.      

What do you expect to do on graduation and where do you expect to be based?

International development work either with international organizations or with international development consulting firms.

How easy or difficult do you expect it to be to achieve these objectives?

Quite a challenge to enter into international development sector - mostly off campus searches, few CDO resources available.
