Harvard Law professor Ashish Nanda has been appointed as the new director of IIM Ahmedabad, one of the leading and best-known MBA business schools in the Asia-Pacific region.
Taking over from Samir Barua, Nanda is the first professor from an overseas school to take up the role of director in IIM-A’s history. After teaching professional services in the MBA program at the Harvard Business School for 13 years, Nanda has been most recently employed at the Harvard Law School where he is faculty director of executive education as well as research director of the Legal Profession Program. Previously he has also held a position with Tata Administrative Services as well as working as an advisor for various law firms. Nanda also boasts a strong academic background, having received gold medals from both IIT-Delhi and IIM-Ahmadabad and both his MA and PhD from Harvard University.
