Business School Students Go Green in CleanTech Challenge: MBA News main image
The CleanTech challenge has been running since 2009 and is an organization created by Dr Jeff Skinner of London Business Schooland Tim Barnes of University College London (UCL). The CleanTech idea is to bring together business and engineering students in a friendly competition to create start-ups which will be both viable economically and environmentally.
The competition, continuing to be hosted by both London Business School and University College London, acts as a platform for students across the globe to showcase their innovational thinking by working in teams and developing ideas through three stages. Participants receive mentorship, guidance and feedback from industry professionals and the ten finalist teams will go head to head in a live ‘Boot Camp’ to win the cash prize of £10,000 (US$16,000) along with the opportunity to develop their idea into a viable new business.
Apply before January 26th 2014 for the London Business School CleanTech Challenge
The submission date for the first round of the CleanTech Challenge is fast approaching and students have until January 26th of the New Year to complete their application for 2014 entry. To enter, you must develop, as a team or individually, your own innovative CleanTech idea which you believe could be developed into a thriving and successful business. As well as the idea, you’ll also need to submit a 200 word manifesto outlining its core principles. By the time round two kicks off however, individuals must have formed a team. All applicants may submit more than one idea.
The winners of last year’s CleanTech Challenge was team Sunuru of Holland’s Delft University and this year the school is urging its students to compete once more, with a promotional video on Youtube.
