It used to be that if you had the right technical skills, you could count on a job. In the same way, if you knew your market, your co-workers and your competitors, you could be a successful manager. However, times have changed. People and trends are evolving at a stunning pace and companies have to continuously reinvent themselves. Leaders of tomorrow have to be one step ahead, not only capable of making the right decisions, but also dynamic, creative and innovative in order to compete in the new global economy.

The Lisbon MBA International program is a one-year full time MBA that prepares students to become strong leaders, by focusing on both the academic component and interpersonal competencies. You will gain the tools, knowledge and contacts that will help you climb the corporate ladder; embark on an international career or start your own business.

What makes The Lisbon MBA unique?

•    Three World-Class Institutions: The Lisbon MBA International Program is a collaboration between the two top Portuguese business schools Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and MIT’s Sloan School of Management. This partnership ensures that you will receive the highest level of academic expertise.

•    A Focus on interpersonal skills and leadership: Singing, acting, and teaching you how to manage up and give negative feedback to your peers are just some of the ways in which we help you strengthen your teamwork and leadership capabilities. Our Friday Forums help you get out of your comfort zone so you’ll be prepared to face the unexpected challenges of leading a top organization and drive new trends in international business. The forums are designed to stimulate the logical processing and develop the intuitive and emotional abilities of students. They are led by experts and coaches from all over the world, who share a passion for training exceptional leaders.

•    A Personal Approach: Each year we welcome an exceptional group of 35-40 students from around the world, allowing us to provide a personalized approach to your academic, personal and professional development over the course of the 12 months, as well as post-graduation.

•    MIT Immersion: Take classes and develop new networks at the Sloan School of Management during a summer stay in Boston. You will have access to MIT’s professors, prolific libraries and learning centers, while pursuing courses specifically focused on global issues in management.

•    International Experience: The International Labs provide an intensive real-world experience, where students from The Lisbon MBA work together with MBA students from Fudan University in Shanghai or Insper in São Paulo. The student teams collaborate on a 2 month consulting project with a business in China or Brazil to address an issue that the host company seeks to resolve. Alternatively, with our Summer Internships you can gain real-world experience and additional networking opportunities within a company or organization in your field of interest from across the globe

•    We encourage your entrepreneurial ideas: We help you start your own business with our Entrepreneurship Hub. You will develop practical entrepreneurial skills while taking advantage of the numerous learning opportunities, networking events with companies within your field and specialized coaching with fellow entrepreneurs.

•    Study in lively and dynamic Lisbon: Lisbon is considered to be an alpha global city, with a strategic location in the world economy and the largest container port on Europe's Atlantic coast. Here, you can experience the atmosphere and culture of a historic European capital, packed with fairytale-like World Heritage monuments. You can also enjoy the weather while surfing at one of the many nearby beaches, explore the hilly landscape of the city and try the delicious national cuisine. Lisbon has been elected, for two consecutive years, “Europe’s Leading City Break Destination” at the World Travel Awards.

Despite the challenging economic times, three months after graduation 80% of our students accepted a full-time job offer. Approximately 50% of our students changed sectors, 50% changed job functions and 32% moved to a different country. In addition, 39% of the students increased their gross salary.

Applications are received throughout the year and the Admissions Committee closely reviews each application. Courses start in January, with entry for the following year closing at the end of September. If you feel this is the right MBA for you, apply now.
