MBA Alumni Profile: Pia Wiberg, Cranfield

Cranfield School of Management alumna Pia Wiberg tells TopMBA.com what she has managed to achieve since graduating from one of the top business schools in the UK.

Before Cranfield I worked as a field market manager with international business development at SCA Packaging, the European leader in producing corrugated transport packaging.

I chose Cranfield because of its international profile and because a lot of work was done in groups. To me, student-professor contact is very important and Cranfield has that. I also chose it because it had a good reputation and several people recommended it to me.

It was the most intense experience so far in my life. I have never worked so hard and learned so much in such a short time, but at the same time had so much fun. The students and professors were great and I still keep in contact with my friends from the course.

Besides the 'business knowledge' I learned to look at and tackle problems and challenges in a different way and I learned to listen to other people's views in a different way. I also learned better time management skills and to focus on what is important.

I am now working with Capgemini. I have worked for four years as a consultant mainly with strategy and business development projects and I am now working as staffing manager and knowledge management manager within consulting services in Capgemini in Sweden. The MBA at Cranfield has helped me to change industry and direction and to move on in my career.
