The Indian IT multinational, Infosys, is poised to step up its global MBA recruitment in the wake of a lengthy period of inactivity.

Infosys, based in Bangalore, wants 200 MBAs from leading business schools around the world to end its four-year absence from global MBA recruitment, according to the Economic Times.

This renewed vigor for MBA recruitment will see India’s sixth largest publicly-traded company visit a host of top business schools in search of global MBA candidates made of the right stuff. Campuses on the list include NUS Business School, Melbourne Business School, Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, INSEAD, Wharton, NYU Stern and Chicago Booth among others.

MBA Recruitment to focus on consultancy

Known for its technical expertise, the motive behind Infosys’ MBA recruitment drive is thought to be in order to enhance the consulting and client engagement side of its business. Indeed, contribution of revenue to Infosys’ total turnover has grown substantially in these aspects over the past seven years.

However, another reason may simply be Infosys’ relatively high employee turnover or attrition rate, currently estimated at 18%, and something that has seen numbers fall throughout the company by more than 1,800 in the last quarter of the present fiscal year. The company confirmed that it hoped to reduce this rate of turnover over the next two years.

Plus, the new MBA recruitment policy has already seen graduates of India’s prestigious IIMs targeted, with 18 new hire offers made, compared to zero this time last year.

Founded in 1981, Infosys provides information technology, software engineering and outsourcing services in addition to its business consultancy work.
