In September, Canada's Schulich School of Business will officially open its new MBA business school campus in Hyderabad, India, initially taking on a cohort of 40 students. The creation of the new Schulich India campus comes as part of a new twinning arrangement between the School and GMR School of Business, an educational initiative of the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation. Previously, the business school delivered a Schulich India MBA Program in conjunction with the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) in the city of Mumbai.

The Schulich MBA in India program will be delivered in both Toronto and Hyderabad.

Students will spend the first year at the Schulich India Hyderabad campus and second year at Schulich's Toronto campus. The Hyderabad Schulich MBA program will mainly be delivered by faculty from the Schulich’s base in Canada, though teaching staff from India and across the globe are also expected be employed at the new Schulich India campus. According to Dean of the Schulich School of Business, Dezsö J. Horváth, his decision to employ a large cohort of Canadian staff at the new Schulich India campus in Hyderabad hopes to give students the best of both worlds: “You get exposure to a foremost Indian school and a top Canadian school at a cheaper cost”.

The new Schulich India campus, as Horváth continued, hopes to provide “a world-class degree that offers truly global career opportunities for executives aspiring to senior leadership roles. We intend to offer that same level of excellence in the Schulich MBA in India program that will commence this September at the newly constructed GMR School of Business".

Schulich has big plans for its new campus in Hyderabad India, with plans to expand and offer a new executive MBA program from early 2015.
