MBA students from the University of Westminster in the UK have partaken in two separate field trips to China and Brazil.

Like many business schools, the University of Westminster Business School organize an annual international trip for their Westminster MBA students. This year, the MBA class was split into two, with one half visiting China, and the other half visiting Brazil, each for just under one week.

The Westminster MBA team visiting China partook in a range of activities, including company visits through a range of industries, and cultural events.

"The trip to China was one of the most important experiences in my entire life," explains Westminster MBA student Irene Salto Menendez. "The choice of going there was based on the simple thought of 'If I do not take this opportunity I do not think I will go over there under any circumstances.' There are not words to explain what is happening in the South West of China right now. Could you imagine a world, professionally speaking, without barriers to do whatever you would like to? Could you imagine how it is to be valued for your skills and your knowledge?"

Meanwhile, the second half of the Westminster MBA team visiting Brazil not only took in the famous sights of Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana, Sugar Loaf Mountain, and Ipanema, but also looked at pertinent topics related to Brazil today:

•    Will Brazil remain the country of the future?
•    Brazilian companies in the global era
•    Brazil's oil boom: Filling up the future?
•    Transportation: Opportunities and challenges brought by mega events
•    Foreign investor's perspective: Why we invested in Brazil
•    The role of media in defining consumer behavior and dress code

"The international study trip to the amazing city of Rio de Janeiro was an incredible experience that certainly lived up to the expectation on a number of levels," says Hisham Al Radhi. "Most presentations given by the number of companies visited were useful and covered lots of information about business aspects in Brazil. At the same time we heavily networked and spent valuable time getting to understand how businesses are managed and internationalised."

The Westminster MBA trip is just one example of the many international trips put on by business schools for their MBA students, with many visiting the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) countries in order to best understand business and management practices in the world's fastest growing economies.
