MBA School of Chongqing University of Technology
Chongqing University of Technology, Chongqing China (Mainland)
About MBA School of Chongqing University of Technology
Chongqing University of Technology was established in 1940. After over 80 years of construction and development, it has formed a multi-disciplinary coordinated development framework, primarily focused on engineering and management. The university has a long history in military engineering and is a key construction institution in Chongqing. It has been recognized as “one of the fastest-growing, most transformative, and most noteworthy universities in Chongqing in recent years.”
In 2009, the university was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education as a training unit for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) professional degree. It has established an MBA education center supported by the School of Management, School of Accounting, School of Economics and Finance, and Chongqing Intellectual Property Institute, among others. This center integrates disciplines such as Computer Information Sscience, Artificial Intelligence, and Mechanical Engineering. In June 2024, it was renamed the MBA School of CQUT. After years of development, the MBA School has established a “3+4” non-full-time MBA program and a full-time MBA program focusing on intelligent management, forming an MBA program system characterized by a profound imprint of engineering disciplines, combining “advantages + features.”
Currently, the MBA School of CQUT has 122 faculty members, led by experts and scholars recognized as national candidates in the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project," Chongqing Talents, Bayu Scholars, and Chongqing Teaching Masters. Over 90% of MBA instructors hold doctoral degrees, and more than 30% have overseas study and visiting experience. Additionally, over 30 faculty members serve as committee members of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee, independent directors of listed companies, and hold other academic and social positions. The non-full-time MBA program implements a dual-mentor system, while the full-time MBA program adopts a “three-person mentor team” system. The school has invited outstanding managers and entrepreneurs from government departments, financial institutions, listed companies, state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises, and excellent startups to form an external cooperative mentor team.
The MBA School of CQUT aims to “create an MBA + business education ecosystem and cultivate business elites responsive to the times” as its vision and mission. It adheres to the MBA talent cultivation philosophy of “disciplinary integration, industry-education integration, and knowledge-action elevation,” following a development path of “specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and innovation.” This approach focuses on MBA education, high-quality teaching models, specialized disciplines, and the cultivation of new-type talents. The school is dedicated to becoming “a testing ground for the reform of engineering and business education in Chongqing, an innovative stronghold, and a catalyst for development,” aiming to embed the MBA program within industries and root it in enterprises. It serves the talent needs for the transformation and upgrading of Chongqing's pillar industries and the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, cultivating management elites in the era of intelligent digitalization who are thoughtful, capable, responsible, and grateful.
