London is only 75 minutes away by train and continental Europe can be reached by air, sea or by the Eurotunnel which are all close by.The Distinctive ProgrammesThe School’s AMBA accredited MBA is available on a full-time route for those students with at least 4 years’ post-graduation work experience and an part-time route which is designed for students with at least five years managerial work experience. It is a high quality programme that offers both theoretical rigour and practical relevance. The compulsory core consists of ten modules which cover the main functional areas of any organisation i.e. marketing, financial management, human resource management, operations management, strategy, and a module that addresses the skills required of an effective manager. From 2013 an additional residential module in Maastricht will expose students to the realities of business. During the residential students will visit up to five organisations, hear from practitioners and academics from across Europe. In addition to the core modules, students can choose option modules from a list that are offered each year. Specialist options in entrepreneurship, project management, finance, and marketing are available.Group work is used extensively in the MBA programme, both informally and as part of the assessment regime. This allows knowledge and expertise to be shared amongst the participants, as well as developing team-working skills.
