COVID19 information:
The UCLA Anderson EMBA Admissions Office is working diligently to transfer admissions events virtually. Thus far, the virtual admission events have garnered a large number of prospects, which the Office is attributing to prospects having more flexibility in their schedule and also because of a lack of travel restrictions. Past and future events include:
o Women’s event hosted by the EMBA Admissions Office staff and with an EMBA Alumni panel
o Dean’s Preview Event hosted by Associate Dean Gonzalo Freixes and EMBA Admissions Office, with an EMBA Alumni panel
o Special COVID-19 specific faculty lecture hosted by Associate Dean Gonzalo Freixes, tentatively titled “Law in the time of COVID”
o Weekly emails highlighting the COVID-19 related virtual events hosted by UCLA Anderson. This weekly update email is sent to EMBA prospects, admitted applicants and enrolled applicants. The EMBA Admissions Office is using this weekly email to showcase Anderson’s timeliness and flexibility in responding to a time of crisis.
o Early Admit Event for admitted Class of 2022 EMBA applicants. This event gave admitted applicants the opportunity to meet with each other, and start forming connections that will stay with them throughout the tenure of the program and beyond. It was a highly attended and well-received event, and highlighted how the EMBA Admissions Office can still foster positive networking and connections virtually.
To address the lack of in person appointments and interviews with applicants, the EMBA Admissions Office has increased the number of 1:1 appointments available, and has given the option of either phone or Zoom consultations. Providing extra appointments times along with the option of phone or Zoom allows for an immediate connection with an EMBA Admissions Officer. On this call we are also offering guidance on when the right time would be to start an EMBA, and the benefits of doing the program now versus waiting.
