Consulting is one of the most profitable fields for MBA grads. Find out which 13 companies pay MBAs US$200,000 fresh out of b-school. 

Consulting is one of the most popular career paths for MBAs – and who can blame them? Recent research by Management Consulted – which last year revealed the top 10 companies with the highest MBA salaries – found that it is one of the most profitable fields for b-school graduates.

Here are the 13 consulting firms where the best MBA talent can earn over US$200,000 (£146,092) in the long run.

Accenture Strategy
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Accenture Strategy is a global consulting firm that serves over 40 different sectors. Its areas of expertise are technology, customer growth, supply chain operations, and talent and enterprise value. Accenture Strategy is one of five firms paying MBA talent up to US$200,000.

Altman Solon
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Altman Solon is a consulting firm operating within the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) sectors, representing a US$5tn global market. The company has extensive international reach, with offices and projects that span over 100 countries.

Galt & Company
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Galt & Company helps Chief Executives and managers of Fortune 500 companies develop their strategies and organizational capabilities. The firm is one of the only players in the industry tackling both customer and capital markets.

Deloitte S&O
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Deloitte S&O is part of the Big Four accounting firms, as well as the largest global professional services network in the world, and is one of the top recruiters of MBA talent. Deloitte S&O helps clients solve their toughest corporate issues in the fields of tax, audit, consulting, financial advisory and enterprise risk.

McKinsey & Company
Total compensation: up to US$200,000

McKinsey & Company provides services in strategy, overall organization, policy, research and management, profit and costs, and management information. Its clients include 80 percent of the world’s largest corporations, ranging from private companies to government organizations and non-profits. Bain & Company is one of the Big Three consulting firms, working with public, private and non-profit businesses, and one of the most popular organizations among MBA graduates.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG)
Total compensation: up to US$206,250
As part of the wider BCG Matrix network, BCG is one of the world’s most prestigious consulting firms, helping corporations decide how to maximize their investments the most effectively. Its clients include many of the world’s 500 largest companies, as well as non-profits and mid-size businesses.

Kearney is a leading global management consulting firm with business operations in more than 40 countries. Its consultants assist over three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500 companies, as well as influential governmental and non-profit organizations.

Booz Allen Hamilton (Middle East)
Total compensation: up to US$214,500 (£156,835)
Booz Allen Hamilton is a global consulting firm, hiring over 27,000 people all over the world. In its Middle East offices – located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Beirut and Doha – MBA talent can earn up to US$214,500.

OC&C Strategy Consultants
Total compensation: up to US$222,750 (£162,867)

OC&C is an international consulting firm operating across continents – from Shanghai to Boston, Warsaw and São Paulo – and paying MBAs over US$220,000. The firm’s reach spans across industries and sectors within the business world, including leisure, consumer goods, B2B and TMT.

The second most high-paying employer in consulting is Strategy&. The multinational strategy firm’s reach spans across industries, from healthcare, energy, financial services, chemicals to telecommunications, aerospace, media technology and fast-moving consumer goods.

Total compensation: up to US$225,000 (£164,512)

And this year’s winner, providing MBA graduates with the highest salary in consulting is AlixPartners, a global business advisory firm that offers services in corporate performance, corporate turnarounds, litigation consulting and forensic accounting. The company’s specialty is handling high-impact situations, which has attracted global giants such as General Motors and Enron.
