TopMBA Weekly Pulse February 19

The blogosphere is blowing up this week! Adhering to the bad news first precedent (like the tearing off of a band aid) that we set last week, Life of Bliss didn’t hear back from UCLA Anderson and wrote them off for this year.

Fortunately, the bad news segment is short this week – as she got some better news just two days later! Maybe schools are just getting lazy this year, or maybe they just enjoy toying with people’s emotions, but My Journey to B-School also got a late interview invite from ISB, followed by a quick acceptance!

Hugo has made up his mind and decided to go to a top business school. Well, that was never in doubt…but which one did he pick? EF Essays has made his decision the only way possible: by pitting Michigan Ross and Texas McCombs in a head-to-head battle royale. Top Dog MBA has also settled on a top MBA program and lets us in on why.

One of TopMBA.com’s favorite guest bloggers, Archana, is back with a post about why she will never be able to actually enjoy a vacation again…for the rest of her life.

The student blogs have been active as a…very active thing, of late. Kellogg students have been busy, dining with female business leaders, keeping their finger on the media’s pulse (on top of featuring in the Pulse) , or experiencing life as a venture capitalist. UCLA Anderson students have been dealing with recruiting season, which is always an exciting time, and raising money for charity through Casino Night. Duke Fuqua students are wrestling with investing, but more for the sake of environmental impact than money. UCD Smurfit MBA students discuss the experience curve and finally, the wife of an MIT Sloan MBA student takes the time to reflect on how, contrary to popular belief (as this recent news article on TopMBA.com discusses),  the MBA experience has made their marriage stronger.
