FAQs

1.  Is the university making any changes to entry requirements (i.e. test results, required documents)?

We have currently put all our offline promotion events on hold. However, to make sure we stay connected to the prospective applications, we have started a series of region specific online information sessions that have been very popular recently. Additionally, we have introduced 1-to-1 consultation session with the admissions team that the prospects can sign up for.

2.  How can applicants contact the university about their application?

As things are almost back to normal in Shanghai, our Admissions office has also resumed regular operations. The applicants can reach out by emailing us at [email protected] or calling us at +86 (21) 2890 5555. We at CEIBS recognize the efforts that goes into an application and are fully committed to helping the applicants through the entire process.

3.  How is the university handling applicants whose exams have been cancelled?

We understand from our partners at GMAC that many GMAT centers around the world remain closed. In light of this we have taken two steps to adjust our admissions process. Firstly, candidates are encouraged to submit applications on or before the deadline with or without a valid GMAT or GRE score. We will then frontload the interview process and offer conditional offers to those successful candidates on the basis of taking the exam at a later date. Secondly, in addition to our third round deadline on March 25th, 2020 we have also added an additional fourth round on May 13th, with a decision due by June 10th, 2020.

4.  What advice is the university offering to applicants unable to take an English-language test due to centers being closed?

As such, we do not require our applicants to take English-language tests. However, we will judge a candidate’s English proficiency through his/her application and interview.

5.  How is the university supporting applicants whose visa applications have been delayed?

During these uncertain times, international travel has been put on hold with increasing restriction day-by-day. Given the situation and keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind, we have taken the decision to push back the commencement of the programme to October 12th, 2020.

6.  Is the university still accepting applications? Are there any restrictions being placed on international applicants?

We like to believe that we are a truly “global” business school and thus remain committed to admitting the best talents, both domestic and international. Therefore, we will continue to accept both domestic and international applications. As such, there have been no restrictions placed on international applicants from our side.

7.  How are applications for university accommodation being handled?

We have a dedicated and affordable on-campus student accommodation facilities. Admitted students can opt to stay on campus or look accommodation off-campus based on their preferences.

8.  Is the university making any changes to entry requirements (i.e. test results, required documents)?

The main disruption has been caused due to temporary closure of test centers. As mentioned before, we have taken two steps to adjust our admissions process. Firstly, candidates are encouraged to submit applications on or before the deadline with or without a valid GMAT or GRE score. We will then frontload the interview process and offer conditional offers to those successful candidates on the basis of taking the exam at a later date.
