MBA International Full time Overview

Deakin’s MBA (International) provides a business internship experience, and offers opportunities to participate in overseas study programs where academic study is integrated with visits to professional bodies in host countries. This enables you to develop a real appreciation of key aspects of business in a global environment.

To complete the Master of Business Administration (International), students must attain a total of 16 credit points, consisting of 12 credit points of core units and 4 credit points of elective units (which may include a specialisation). 

Entry will be based on performance in:

•Bachelor Degree or other qualification at a higher AQF level in any discipline, with a minimum WAM of 65 OR

•Successful completion of Masters Qualifying Program (or MQP Extended) (with a minimum overall average of 65 in the discipline units)

•IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no band score less than 6.0) or equivalent.

Is it possible to specialise in one area of study?
The degree requires completion of 16 credit points comprising 11 credit points of core units, 1 credit point selected from a list of three units, plus 4 credit points of elective units from a specified list (students may choose other units with prior written approval of the Course Team Chair). The 4 credit points of elective units may form one of the following specialisations: Business Consulting, Business Law, eBusiness and Supply Chain Management, Finance, Human Resource Management,Insurance and Risk, Management, International Business, Marketing, Project Management, Research, Retail Management, Social Media and Mobile Strategies.
What are the entry requirements?
Completion of a tertiary program equivalent to not less than 3 years of full-time study at a university or other approved educational institution -normally requires weighted average mark (WAM) of 65% or approved equivalent, or for those without a degree, a masters degree may be accepted in lieu of a 3-year bachelor degree -normally requires weighted average mark (WAM) of 65% or approved equivalent, or a graduate certificate in a cognate area -normally requires weighted average mark (WAM) of 65% or approved equivalent plus 5 years minimum relevant work experience. Applicants may be eligible for Credit for Prior Learning for appropriate units of completed postgraduate study.
Can I obtain credit for prior learning?
The University aims to provide students with as much credit as possible for approved prior study or informal learning which exceeds the normal entrance requirements for the course and is within the constraints of the course regulations. Students are required to complete a minimum of one-third of the course at Deakin University, or four credit points, whichever is the greater. In the case of certificates, including graduate certificates, a minimum of two credit points within the course must be completed at Deakin.
