General
HHL is located on a modern campus shared with Leipzig University, where two of the University of Leipzig's faculties (Education and Sports) are also based. Following a “one-campus” concept, all key facilities, including HHL buildings, the library and a canteen are located in one place. HHL students can also access the university’s sports facilities (for a small fee). The campus is set in a green environment along the river Weiße Elster, directly opposite the RB Leipzig football stadium, creating a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere for study and student life.
The campus is accessible 24/7, including the library, providing maximum flexibility for studying and group work. Students benefit from a Mensa (canteen) offering subsidised hot meals, as well as a cafeteria with snacks and refreshments. A tram stop directly outside ensures excellent connectivity, with the city centre and central station just a few minutes away.
While HHL does not operate its own student dormitories, it is part of the Leipzig student union network, which offers a range of affordable accommodation options, some located close to campus. To support a smooth transition, HHL provides an extensive onboarding programme, including dedicated sessions on housing as well as an online platform for accommodation guidance and peer exchange.
Student life
Student life at HHL is defined by a highly international and diverse community. Students come from a wide range of countries and cultural backgrounds, creating a truly global classroom experience and fostering the exchange of different perspectives. This diversity is seen as a key strength at HHL, enriching discussions, teamwork, and the overall learning environment.
The experience begins with an extensive Welcome Week programme, spanning two weeks and designed to help students smoothly transition into their studies. It includes informative sessions on academic programs and key departments, as well as networking and team-building activities across all programs, enabling students to quickly build strong personal and professional connections from day one.
Beyond the classroom, student initiatives play a central role in shaping campus life. From consulting and entrepreneurship clubs to social and sports initiatives, students have many opportunities to take on leadership roles, organize events, and engage with the wider HHL community.
To support integration into life in Germany, HHL also offers free German language courses, including an intensive beginner course before the program starts and classes at different levels throughout the program.

This lifelong support system, combined with HHL’s strong reputation among employers, enables graduates to successfully transition into new roles, industries, and geographies.
Internships are an integral part of the HHL MBA and take place within the advanced track in the second study year. Typically lasting between three and six months, internships provide students with valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real business settings. Depending on their career goals, students may also choose to complete more than one internship during their studies.
The Career Development team offers dedicated support throughout the process, including guidance on identifying opportunities, preparing applications, and connecting with potential employers.
