Jack Welch MBA Overview

The Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI) transforms the lives of our students by providing them with the tools to become better leaders, build great teams, and help their organizations win. Anchored in the management canon of legendary CEO Jack Welch, our rigorous, real-world curriculum is taught by passionate executives from some of the top companies in the world and can be implemented on the job the next day.

JWMI offers a 12-course (each lasting 10 weeks) online MBA program with additional concentrations in Health Care and Human Resources. Students can finish the program in as little as 18 months.

JWMI’s core online MBA courses provide a firm academic grounding in key business functions including: Strategy, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Economics.

The JWMI Healthcare MBA infuses the operations, finance, and policy tools needed within this specialized industry.

The JWMI Human Resources MBA designed by Jack Welch and features lessons from talent management executives at Netflix, Delta Airlines and more who understand what is required to help transform the HR function into the most critical department within an organization. 

The Applicants to the Jack Welch Management Institute’s online MBA program are required to provide:

  • Proof of completion of a United States Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, or approved equivalent
  • A 3.0 undergraduate grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale
  • GMAT or GRE  (waived with 5 years of professional experience) 
  • A minimum of five years of professional work experience
  • A completed MBA application and enrollment agreement, as applicable
  • A valid, current government-issued photo identification
  • Resume or LinkedIn profile
  • Personal essay
  • In addition to the above, special consideration may be given to applicants who do not meet minimum GPA admission requirements but show graduate potential and have a minimum of five years of professional or business experience. A personal interview with the Dean is required.

All international applicants must have the equivalent of a US degree. If you obtained your bachelor’s degree outside of the US, JWMI will work with NACES – the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services – on your behalf to initiate a credential evaluation process.

JWMI also accepts 3-year bachelor’s degrees from select countries. International applicants must meet all other MBA admission requirements.
