In order to apply to a regular study program at Maastricht University, you will have to start your application via www.studielink.nl. Once you have registered your application on Studielink, you will receive a username and password from Maastricht University which you can use to log-in to the university’s online application portal, called MyUM. In the MyUM portal you will be required to fill in some additional personal details, and upload the necessary documents for review by the admissions office. For a more extensive and program specific description of how to apply, including a list of required documents, you should visit the Maastricht University webpage for the program of your choice and click on “how to apply.” At the webpage for your program you will also find an explanation of any additional requirements you may need to meet such as language proficiency tests or additional subjects.
Which documents are required for my application?
The required documents for your application will depend on which program you are applying to, which is why you should refer to the webpage of your chosen program for the full list of documents you need to upload. There are, however, a number of documents which you must upload to the MyUM portal regardless of which program you are applying to. These documents include:
a. a copy of your diploma and list of grades (or if you do not have your diploma yet, your most recent list of grades)
b. a valid passport
c. a passport photograph
How do I know if my high school diploma is sufficient for applying to Maastricht University?
In order to be admissible to a Bachelor’s program at Maastricht University, your high school diploma needs to be equivalent to the Dutch VWO high school diploma. On the website, you can see the minimum requirements that your high school diploma must meet depending on which country you are from. Please also check the additional requirements that may apply to your diploma.
When is the deadline for completing my application?
The deadline for applying to Bachelors programs at Maastricht University also varies per program and can be found at the webpage of the program to which you are applying. Please keep in mind that there are different deadlines for the application depending on whether or not you are an EU citizen and if you are applying for a program with a lottery procedure. Most of our Bachelors programs start in September, however there are a few programs starting in both September and February of each year. You can also find this on the program webpage.
